Refraction: Dream

Hall Jameson is a writer and fine art photographer who lives in Helena, Montana. Her photographs have been shown in museums and galleries across the United States, including the Woman Made Gallery in Chicago, Illinois, and the Marin Museum of Contemporary Art in Novato, California. Her work has also appeared in a variety of publications, including 42 Magazine, The Monarch Review, and Redivider. When she’s not writing or taking photographs, Hall enjoys hiking, playing the piano, and cat wrangling.
Author’s Commentary I am interested in examining unique arrangements of textual matter and graphic elements using a variety of nonconventional filters. My recent work, from the series Refraction, is geared toward this investigation. Photographing through drops of water, blown glass and mottled plastic, I strive to redirect the meaning of the subject matter by compressing the composition from a conventional form into a distinct revelation, bringing the uncluttered elements to the forefront.
